Now HVAC and Plumbing contractors can add incremental services
Stamford, Conn – July 11, 2011 – SpeedClean (www.speedclean.com) announces the launch of their newest product, the BucketDescaler™, a water heater descaling system and SpeedyBright, a UL listed potable water descaling solution. These innovative products allow for the quick and simple descaling of tanked and tankless water heater systems quickly and effectively while adding incremental service revenue opportunities to plumbing and HVAC contractors.
Annual shipments of tanked and tankless water heaters have averaged over 9.2M units over the last decade in the US, according to energystar.gov. In recent years the volume of tankless water heaters installed has risen dramatically. While specific numbers differ, many agree tankless units could represent 7% of all water heater installed in the US this year. Much of this growth is a factor of efficiency, size and cost reductions. An estimated 650,000 tankless units will be sold and installed this year alone in the US for residential and more increasingly, commercial use.
As with most heat exchange systems, regular maintenance of tanked and tankless hot water heaters is required to maintain top performance and efficiency. A major culprit reducing system performance is the build-up of lime scale on heater elements caused by hard water deposits. This scale is caused by hard water (calcium carbonate) in the water supply and drastically reduces the heat exchange properties of the system, reducing efficiency and performance over time. Over 50% of population of the USA is considered to be in moderate to hard water areas according to the USGS.
The periodic maintenance of tankless hot water units is especially crucial given their on-demand performance requirements. Current maintenance methods include a "wait and fix" approach where maintenance happens when the unit fails to perform or a vinegar approach, where white vinegar is pumped through the system, many times for hours to eradicated limescale build-up. Both approaches cost time, money and efficiency to the contractor and end-user.
The BucketDescaler™ quickly and easily solves tankless water heater maintenance. It’s a fully integrated recirculation system made from high grade acid proof pumps and fixtures is industrial grade, lightweight, and affixes to any standard 5 gallon water bucket for ease of use. It easily connects to water in/out couplings and with a flick of a switch circulates SpeedClean SpeedyBright™ descaler liquid that removes limescale and other deposits in minutes and is classified by UL to NSF/ANSI Class 60. Our SpeedyBright is specially formulated in "single shot" bottles, where one shot and a mix of water clean a standard tankless unit in 20-30 minutes. Common white vinegar systems can take hours.
The BucketDescaler also offers a variety of contractors an incremental maintenance revenue line. Hot water heater installation and maintenance has generally been the trade of the plumbers, however this unique product offers contractors in plumbing and HVAC to add incremental revenue to their core services. Along with annual or semiannual maintenance for HVAC and plumbing systems, contractors can add tankless or tanked hot water heater maintenance services, providing increase customer satisfaction and revenue opportunities.
BucketDescaler comes with descaling system and high grade 5 gallon bucket. SpeedyBright descaler is required for use and comes in cases of two (2) "single shot" half gallon bottles.
The BucketDescaler is available from Johnstone Supply and other HVAC/Plumbing distributors. For more information please visit www.speedclean.com.
